Why you might want to work with me
My work as a therapist reflects three core beliefs:
- We all experience difficulty and distress and we are all impacted by our experiences
- Healing and a return to wholeness is possible for us all
- In order to heal, our feelings and experiences need to be met with kindness and compassion
At different times we will all experience difficulty and distress and we are all impacted by our experiences of life. Because of past hurts we learned ways to stay safe and avoid getting hurt again. These strategies were once necessary for our survival and development, but they also separate us from deeper and more fulfilling relationships. Learning to understand and navigate the landscape of our lives helps us understand how our experiences have impacted and shaped us.
In the context of a warm, empathic and supportive relationship, we all have the capacity to grow and even the deepest wounds can be healed. I don’t believe that there is anything that cannot be spoken about or anything that may have happened to us which cannot be healed. As familiar patterns are seen and understood, moments of insight can take root in new ways of being that we may not have imagined were possible for us.
Our life experiences have shaped us in unique and particular ways, and opening towards what has been difficult requires kindness and compassion if we are to heal and grow. While therapy may ‘take time’, it is in the here and now that we learn to work with the difficulties of our lives and this is where healing happens.

My training and background
I trained in Core Process Psychotherapy at the Karuna Institute in Devon and received my Master’s qualification from Middlesex University. This psychotherapy training is accredited by both the UK Council for Psychotherapy (UKCP) and the British Association for Counselling & Psychotherapy (BACP). I have been working as a psychotherapist since 2016 and I engage in regular supervision and CPD to support my work.
I have practised Insight Meditation (the origin of Mindfulness) since 2003 and have been teaching Mindfulness-Based Cognitive Therapy (MBCT) to groups and individuals since 2012.
